We are pleased to welcome Jennifer Rivera as our first Director for Artistic Development.
Ms. Rivera has performed on some of the world’s leading stages on five continents including The Berlin Staatsoper, The Teatro Regio di Torino, Innsbruck Festival fur Alte Musik, as well as singing for eight seasons at The New York City Opera after being chosen as their debut artist of the year. She is a Grammy nominee for her recording of Nerone in Agrippina for Harmonia Mundi, and her recently released recording of Penelope in Il Ritorno D’Ulisse in Patria for Linn Records was chosen as album of the week by the Sunday Times. She is also a regular contributor to the Huffington Post Arts and Culture section and was chosen as the winner of the Spring For Music Arts Blogger Challenge.
She has created roles in two world premieres (Elmer Gantry and The Golden Ticket) and has sung many roles in contemporary operas including several productions of Mark Adamo’s Little Women and Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking. She remains a committed arts advocate and her responsibilities at Center for Contemporary Opera will include overseeing development and marketing campaigns seeking to increase the financial stability and visibility of CCO, as well as assisting with future artistic and strategic planning.
